ClexaCon returns with virtual panels, workshops, and all things queer entertainment April 16-18
Last year was incredibly challenging for fan conventions. From SXSW to San Diego ComicCon, cons who were gearing up for their 2020 season had to quickly shift gears, canceling in-person events. ClexaCon was mere weeks away from their fourth con and had to make the difficult but important decision to postpone. Since then, the ClexaCon team has put on a virtual queer film festival, celebrated LGBTQ writers with PubCon, and co-produced SQ:UAD Fest. They are now getting back to their convention roots and presenting ClexaCon Virtual this April 16-18, 2021. Three days of panels, actors, writers, fans, and fun.
Panelists announced so far include Amy Acker (Person of Interest, Angel), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer, Spartacus), Jaime Murray (Warehouse 13, Spartacus, Defiance), Brooke Smith (Grey's Anatomy, Big Sky), Alex Blue Davis (Grey's Anatomy, She-Ra), Devon Hales and Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), Clarissa Tibeaux (Runaways), Toya Turner (Warrior Nun), Iyari Limon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Troy Rocket (Dyke Central), Fawzia Mirza (Signature Move), Jenna Laurenzo (LezBomb), Dalilia Ali Rajah (Cherry Bomb!), and Vico Ortiz (These Thems, Vida). More guests will continue to be announced in the coming days.
In addition to panels with special guests, there will also be special events like the Queerly Beloved Revue, Trivia Night with Lez Hang Out, Craft Hour with Design Hive LA, and Meditation with Winny Clarke. I'll be there too :)
Ticket details will be released soon, so you might want to clear your calendar for that weekend. Looks like ClexaCon Virtual will be jam-packed with a lot of good times.
