Queer holiday music to ring in the season

First of all, dear readers, I apologize for the sparse content lately. I recently started a full-time job in marketing and it has taken me a while to get accustomed to a new schedule. But, I will do my best to continue bringing you upbeat, fun queer content for the foreseeable future.
So back to this article! It's Christmas music time, so deck those damn halls with some queer artists and albums. Who needs "The Christmas Shoes" when we can have Tegan and Sara singing about the ladies on their Christmas lists.
Happiest Season Motion Picture Soundtrack
The K-Stew holiday film that has polarized Twitter has a pretty killer soundtrack featuring out LGBTQ musicians including Tegan and Sara, Shea Diamond, and Brandy Clark. The soundtrack is a collection of new tunes like Anne-Marie's "Think of Christmas" and classics like Silent Night by queer crooner LP.
"two queens in a king sized bed" by girl in red
Do you listen to girl in red? This popular artist out of Norway has dominated the queer Tik Tok scene, and it's natural that girl in red would have a queertastic Christmas song about lounging in bed under the mistletoe with her lady love.

"White Christmas" by Lady Gaga
Back in the mid-aughts, Lady Gaga was bit by the standard's bug and we have this little gem from that time period. Bisexual icon, multi-genre topping artist, fashion-innovator, Oscar winner. What can't Gaga do?
"O Holy Night" by Brandi Carlile
Accapella. Belted. Christmas. Magic.
"This Hanukkah" by Club Sofa
With a charming jazzy-Bossa-nova beat and sweet vocals, this song is a must-have on your holiday rotation. Please excuse me while I listen to everything by this Vancouver-based all-women quartet.
"Please Come Home for Christmas" by Adam Lambert
The Eagles may have originated this rock-bluesy ode to Christmas love, but Adam Lambert really makes it his own in this cover from last year.

"Jolly Old St. Nick" by Hayley Kiyoko
Leave it to Hayley Kiyoko to take a tune from the late 1800s and make it sound new again. Using minor chord progressions and fascinating background vocals, this song is a real holiday treat.
"Christmas Time" by Ryan Cassata
Friend of the site, Ryan Cassata has a rocking and tender original holiday song you'll want to check out this season. "Christmas trees with colored lights, Charlie Brown and starlit nights."
"Jingle Bell Rock" by Big Freedia
Grab a swig of eggnog, and deck the halls with Big Freedia.
"Hard Candy Christmas" by Cris Williamson
What do you get when you combine one of the pioneers of queer women's music with a Dolly Parton hit? This delish cover of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' bittersweet holiday tune written by Carol Hall is a queer classic.
Here's a Spotify playlist where you can listen to all these tunes. If you love some, do the artists a solid and purchase their music.
